TPCS Literacy Week
Posted on 02/04/2019
Literacy Day at TPCSThe Prince Charles School students, staff and families celebrated Literacy Week from January 21st to 25th, 2019.  Students enjoyed reading in their classrooms and at home.  Families sent photos of their children reading before bed via social media and "Catch you Reading" phone calls were made at night.  All of the students who sent in photos received a new book as a prize.  There were also read aloud stories on the announcements each morning and the students were practising listening to the book and visualizing what was happening in the story. On Friday, January 25th, the students had an opportunity to visit three classrooms to listen to teachers read their favourite books.  Mme. Proulx prepared a literacy map of the school with the teachers pictures and the book they were reading so that the students could make decisions about which three books they would like to listen to.  Students also wore PJs to school on Friday and enjoyed cookies and milk with their class in the afternoon.  It was a wonderful week of celebrating reading together as a school community!
