What's Happening at The Prince Charles School
Welcome Back New and Returning Students and Families
Hello everyone! Bonjour à tous!
Welcome everyone to our first official update of the 25/26 school year! The staff here at TPCS are so excited to see everyone on the first day of school next week! We have missed our students and parent community, and can’t wait to start work on all the amazing things we’re going to accomplish together this year!
This newsletter will be shorter than usual, as I just wanted to share a few things prior to the first day.
The office is open this week so give us a call or drop by if you have any questions or are looking to register your child.
The first day of school is Wednesday September 3rd. Please remember that our morning bell has now changed and will ring at 8:10 am. This means that supervisors will be on the yard at 7:50 am to receive students. There was no change to our dismissal time of 2:30 pm.
I have included maps of line up locations so families are aware of where to go on the first day. I have also included our cell phone policy and LDSB Student Dress Policy for families to review. If you have any questions regarding those please give me a call and I would be happy to chat with you about them.
Also included is a graphic that outlines what students need to bring to school next week. Buying everything a child needs can be expensive, especially when you add in brothers and sisters and new fall clothes. The school can help with these items, just call the school and ask to speak with me, and we will be happy to support in anyway we can.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me here at the school. I am always happy to talk with families to help clarify situations or hear about issues.
Have a great week,
Bill Dowling

TPCS Cell Phone Policy
Cell phone use by students impacts not only the learning environment but also the safety and privacy of others. In accordance with the Limestone District School Board’s Policy as well as the Ministry of Education’s Policy, students are not to be using cell phones at school unless they are directed to do so by their teacher for instructional purposes. As a staff, we have discussed why certain students may need to use their cell phones while at school and we will make sure we connect with those students and their parents to make a plan. We also want to highlight that if there needs to be any communication between home and school during the school day, this needs to go through the main office by calling 613-354-2121.hen your child arrives at school, they will be directed to put their device in a safe container in the classroom. If your child does not follow the expectations around cell phone use, their device will be housed in the office for the day. There will not be any warnings given. Your child will be able to pick it up at the end of the day. If their device is being misused again, a parent/guardian will be asked to come pick up the cell phone. This policy extends to the use of headphones/earbuds without direct permission from a teacher. Our goal is to make the most use of class time and create an effective, focused, and respectful learning environment for all students.
LDSB Student Dress Policy
The Limestone District School Board is committed to upholding human rights, and creating an equitable, inclusive, and accessible school climate that ensures all students and staff feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. Please review our updated Student Dress Policy using the attached document
