LDSB Entrepreneur Showcase on April 16, 2025, at Mitchell Hall, 69 Union St, Kingston, ON. This exciting event will feature innovative student businesses and products, with opportunities for students to pitch their ideas to local community partners and receive valuable feedback.

The Entrepreneurship Education Pilot Projects aim to promote entrepreneurship education for Grade 7 to 12 students, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and skills to run a business or social enterprise. Developed in partnership with local industry and community organizations, these projects support all students, including those with disabilities and special education needs, in today's changing economy. The objectives include encouraging innovative initiatives, fostering collaboration with industry partners, supporting student business plans, and promoting engagement in entrepreneurship, particularly in STEM and skilled trades.

The event is open to the public, and we recommend attending between 12:15 and 2:00 p.m. during the pitch sessions.

Claire's Cards

Hi, I'm Claire. I started Claire's Cards around Christmas 2023 when I realized I needed a creative outlet. I've always loved painting and crafting, so I thought I'd combine that with my love for the holidays. It's been a fun journey and making these handmade cards really makes me happy. I love sharing that joy with others!

heARTspire

Hi, my name is Sydney Cox. I’m an 11-year-old artist from Inverary, Ontario, and the proud owner of heARTspire, a business I started in 2023. I’ve been painting since I was 4 years old, and now I sell my acrylic paintings both at local markets and on my online store. My mission is simple: to inspire others, especially young entrepreneurs, to chase their dreams and never give up. Through my art and business, I hope to show that it’s never too early to start building something you love.

Running my own business has been an exciting journey, and I’ve learned so much about hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Whether it's through my art or my entrepreneurial journey, I want to encourage everyone, no matter their age, to follow their passion and believe in themselves. Dreams don’t have an age limit, and I hope my story can be a reminder that anything is possible if you work hard and stay focused.
