Dear Families,

Tri-Board Transportation has been advised by Stock Transportation that services will not be provided due to an ongoing labour dispute starting on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Starting Tuesday and until further notice, all Stock Transportation busing and van services will be suspended, and families will be responsible for making alternative travel arrangements for their students.

All services NOT operated by Stock will run as planned, subject to regular delays and cancellations.

We understand that disruptions to transportation services will affect students and their families and will work together to minimize any impact on student learning. Please be patient, as school drop-off and pick-up will be significantly more congested and take extra time at some school sites where many students are transported by Stock Transportation.

Families should log into Tri-Board Transportation’s Student Portal to confirm if their bus is operated by Stock Transportation and to review your bus status alert subscriptions. This service disruption will be reflected in Tri-Board Transportation’s BusPlanner as cancellations posted daily, for those who subscribe to bus status alerts. A list of daily cancellations can also be viewed on Tri-Board’s website.

Many students ride buses operated by different companies in the morning and afternoon, so it is important to check all assigned transportation, including transfers. For example, if a student rides on a bus operated by Stock in the morning, but rides a bus operated by another company in the afternoon, then only their morning transportation would be suspended.

As neither Tri-Board nor the school boards are the employer, we are not at the negotiating table. We are hopeful that negotiations will resume as soon as possible. We believe bus drivers and bus monitors do an excellent job transporting students safely to and from school, and we hope that both parties can reach an agreement soon.

The safety of students remains our priority and our school communities will work collaboratively to ensure a safe drop off and pick up zone for all students.

We remain committed to keeping families informed as new information becomes available.

Thank you,

Limestone District School Board
